Eligibility
100% schedular service-connected disability rating under 38 USC 1114 or 1134, OR a 100% disability rating based on Individual Unemployability (IU; e.g., 60%+ single rating, or two+ conditions with one at 40%+ and combined 70%+, where VA rates the veteran 100% disabled). Must have been a Wisconsin resident at the time of entry onto active duty, OR been a Wisconsin resident for any consecutive 5-year period after entry into active duty. Must obtain a Veteran's Residency Affidavit from County or Tribal Veterans Service Officer before claiming. Unremarried surviving spouses also eligible if the deceased veteran: died on active duty as a WI resident; had a 100% disability rating and was a WI resident at death; died in line of duty (National Guard/Reserve); or the spouse receives dependency and indemnity compensation post-death.

Refundable property tax credit for property taxes paid during the year on the veteran's or surviving spouse's principal dwelling in Wisconsin. Veteran pays taxes normally, then files a state tax return to receive a refund of eligible property taxes.
