Eligibility

Employer-facing benefit (statutory authority: WV Code §21A-2C). Employers must hire economically disadvantaged veterans, disabled veterans, or unemployed WV National Guard/US Reserve members. The veteran employee must be certified as eligible by WorkForce West Virginia and remain in continuous employment for at least one year.

Covers

Economically disadvantaged veterans: 30% of the first $5,000 in wages = up to $1,500 credit. Disabled veterans: VA-rated percentage of service-connected disability multiplied by the first $5,000 in wages. National Guard/Reserve members: 25% of the first $5,000 in wages = up to $1,250 credit.
