Eligibility
Idaho resident and homeowner of a primary residence with the current Idaho homeowner's exemption (mobile homes qualify). Must be recognized by the VA as having a 100% service-connected disability or receive 100% compensation due to individual unemployability. Must own and occupy the property before April 15 of the tax year. No income limit.
What Property Tax Reduction for Disabled Veterans covers
Covers
Reduces property taxes on the home and up to one (1) acre of land by up to $1,500 per year. Does not cover solid waste, irrigation, or other government fees. If the disability is permanent and total, the benefit renews automatically without annual reapplication.
Surviving spouse
Once granted to a qualifying veteran, a surviving spouse can continue using this benefit, but it terminates upon the spouse's death and is not transferable to a new property.
